SUNGSAN E&C successfully develops of 150kW SSPA RF Power Combiner

SUNGSAN Electronics & Communications succeeded in producing a 150kW SSPA RF Power Combiner for the local development of SSPA for the high-output high-frequency system, which is the core device of the multipurpose synchrotron radiation accelerator in South Korea (4GSR).

In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the core of national competitiveness is solid basic science and utilizing it to dominate the global market in new industries. To this end, we are carrying out a project to build an industrial support multipurpose radiation accelerator in South Korea (4GSR) to develop government-led materials, parts, and equipment and to strengthen the research capabilities of universities and industries.

The next- generation multipurpose synchrotron radiation accelerator in South Korea(4GSR) device is evaluated as the most practical among huge research facilities, but the number of facilities worldwide is very low compared to the number of users.

SSPA, a high-output high-frequency system, has been largely dependent on imports, and it is difficult to respond to risk management, operation, and maintenance due to overseas introduction. Accordingly, SUNGSAN Electronics & Communications succeeded in producing a 150kW SSPA RF Power Combiner for the local development of SSPA for the high-output high-frequency system, which is the core device of the multipurpose synchrotron radiation accelerator in South Korea (4GSR).

To compensate for the insufficient output of a single SSPA, the RF Power combiner for 150kW SSPA combines input power with low loss during the combining process to achieve high efficiency. The product's RF cavity combiner provides an input port that can combine 30 RF power modules into a single stage.
In addition, a single 5kW SSPA output is connected to a 1-5/8" EIA connector to provide a single high output of 150kW through the Waveguide Port (WR1800).

SUNGSAN Electronics & Communications hopes to contribute to the domestic accelerator business based on its accumulated experience and technology in developing various accelerator devices.
In addition, we plan to lay the foundation to challenge next-generation accelerator technology in the future and use it to our advantage in many ways for future performance improvement and additional demand.
